Biography[]
Was the third Pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of Egypt. He built temples in Egypt and a tomb for himself in the Valley of the Kings. He was succeeded by his son, Thutmose II. Traveled up the Nile and fought in a battle against the Nubian king. Upon victory, he hung the body of the Nubian King on the prow of his ship. Organized great projects, such as the Temple of Karnak. He was the first king to drastically enlarge the temple. He was also the first king to be buried in the Valley of the Kings.
Mummification[]
Was buried in KV38 but then reburied in KV20 with his daughter Hatshepsut based on the examination of the architecture. His yellow sarcophagus was inscribed with texts which proclaimed Thutmose III's love for his deceased grandfather.
