|Date(s)||1800 BCE to the first centuries BCE|
Tarim mummies date back from 1800 BCE to the first centuries BCE. These mummies were discovered in the Tarim Basin (present-day Xinjiang, China). These people who have vanished a long time ago have no name, but, many clues are emerging about their way of life, language, and ancestry. It is lead to believe that the Tarim mummies are considered to be associated with the presence of the Indo-European Tocharian languages in the Tarim Basin.
Their remains are buried in upside-down boats throughout one of the world’s largest deserts.
