Sobekneferu had a brief ruling as Egypt's, and the world's, first confirmed female Pharaoh. She is the successor of her brother Ammenemes. Sobekneferu died without a heir, thus, ending the 12th dynasty and beginning the transition into the 13th dynasty.
Found in a pyramid complex in Mazghuna, but her body had been poorly preserved. This had confused researchers. The mummy is said to still remain within her tomb Sekhem-Neferu.
